Do I really need a web site?
Most likely. A web site can be the most important tool in your advertising or marketing campaign. Your web site is your 24 hour representative for your business. Consumers can see what products and services you offer, your hours of operation, a map to your location, client testimonials, and countless other aspects of your business 24 hours a day. We are at an age where, if you don't have a web site and you competition does, you are likely to loose business. It is also important to note that when you get a web site, you should include it in your normal advertising and marketing materials. It sounds obvious, but you would be surprised how many businesses are not fully utilizing the power of their web site.
Can't I create a web site myself?
Yes and No. While it is easy to learn HTML and construct a web page, it doesn't take long before you will find the process overwhelming. Not only do you have to obtain the domain name, graphically design the web pages, you will have to find someone to host your web pages, optimize your pages for search engines, analyse the web server log files to continually optimize and promote your site. This is assuming that you are not taking orders online, there are no forms to submit, and there is no database back-end to your web site. If you would like to have any of these things, then you need to learn a programming language. All this while trying to run your business.
